The fourth generation of the iconic Lexus LX is coming to Canada, refined and prepared to disrupt all expectations for full-size luxury SUVs.
Lexus’ new flagship SUV, the 2022 LX 600, comes with a newly optimized body-on-frame build paired with a GA-F platform that’s rigid and responsive. With a 200kg weight reduction, optimized centre of gravity and front high-mounted double wishbone suspension, the LX confidently handles turns, rapid acceleration and offers increased stability and ride comfort when the road surface gets tough.
The LX is backed by a powerful and commanding 3.5-litre V6 twin-turbo engine, producing 409 hp and maximum 479 lb-ft of torque to handle both on and off-road traversing. The experience behind the wheel of the LX is amplified by the motor and reduction Electric Power Steering for dynamic road navigation with a Electronically Controlled Brake system that employs a linear degree of stopping force through hydraulic brakes.
In addition to hardware enhancements, the 2022 LX features advanced driving software. Multi-Terrain Select offers six distinct driving modes with Auto, Dirt, Sand, Mud, Deep Snow, and Rock, while Crawl Control allows the driver to choose from five low speed crawl settings, LO, MIDL, MID, MIDH, and HIGH, in drive and reverse. Downhill Assist Control additionally aids in automatically controlling the hydraulic pressure of the brakes to support stable descent.
Function harmonizes with luxurious aesthetics in the profile of the LX, offering optimized proportions for an athletic stature. From its three dimensional spindle grille to the L-shaped headlamps, the eye is drawn to the muscular and chiseled presence of the LX as it commands the road on 22-inch forged aluminum wheels.
New to the LX is the seamlessly integrated 12.3-inch upper touchscreen with added LX-exclusive 7-inch lower touchscreen with the incorporated Virtual Assistant for an interpretive multimedia system. Lexus Safety System+ 2.5 also comes standard, bringing features such as Pre-Collision System, which includes Frontal Collision Warning, Automatic Emergency Braking, Pedestrian Detection, Bicyclist Detection as well as Automatic High Beams. All-Speed Dynamic Radar Cruise Control and Lane Departure Alert with Steering Assist also work to support motorits.
For the first time, drivers can experience the sportier styling features of the F SPORT grade in their LX featuring a jet black chrome grille, textured genuine leather for the shifter and steering wheel and exclusive F SPORT emblems applied throughout the cabin. Road performance is also heightened with uniquely tuned front and rear performance dampers, a Torsen® LSD, and a rear stabilizer.
