While the updated 2021 Lexus LC 500 Convertible and Coupe models are strikingly similar to recent iterations of the eye-catching GT, they are not without the addition of several thoughtful details that warrant recognition. Here are five things to look for in the 2021 Lexus LC 500.
Untouched visual aesthetics
The LC 500 retains its sleek yet aggressive identity in 2021, with Lexus changing very little of the vehicle’s elegant design. Instead, the availability of the new 21″ forged alloy wheels add another sporty dimension to the GT Coupe and Convertible.
Handling improvements
For the 2021 LC models, Lexus underwent the process of updating the car’s suspension with various aluminum components, high-strength coil springs, new stabilizers and lighter rear wheels. This process of reducing 22 lbs of unsprung weight should improve the vehicle’s handling dynamics for a noticeable change on those longer journeys.
Familiar performance, brand new feel
Unchanged in the 2021 LC 500 model is the 5.0-litre V8 engine, producing 464 HP for the rear-wheel-drive setup. But with an upgraded 10-speed automatic transmission, offering higher revs and the new Active Cornering Assist System, the LC 500 offers a new road feel within those fast corners.
Sonic Satisfaction
An additional feature to note on the LC 500 Convertible is Active Noise Control, which works to counteract unwanted engine sounds. Combined with radical sound absorbing materials, LC Convertible achieves a level of quietness almost unheard of in a convertible – even with the top down.
Opt-in features
With the Sport+ Pack option for the 2021 LC 500 Coupe and Sport Pack addition for both Coupe and Convertible models, additional features include semi-aniline leather upholstery with neck heaters in the convertible model, a colour head up display, and Mark Levinson premium sound system available for opt-in.
Stand out on the road
In addition to the dynamic range of paint finishes and interior styling available on the 2021 LC 500 models, a myriad of special metallic paint finishes are also available, including Infrared, Atomic Silver, Smokey Grey Mica and Flare Yellow.
