Whether you are thinking of getting behind the wheel of your very first Lexus or you have already owned a few of them, you might have a few questions about the brand’s service offerings. So, in an effort to help you see more clearly what makes Lexus one of the best automakers out there, we found some of the most frequently asked questions on the internet and answered them for you here….on the internet.
Can I have my Lexus serviced at a Toyota dealership?
Answer: Yes, you can! While having your vehicle serviced at a Lexus dealership comes with many advantages (like our Lexus loaners), you can have your vehicle serviced at any Toyota dealership if it is more convenient to do so. Many Lexus shares mechanical components with Toyota, so their technicians are perfectly capable of working on our vehicles.
Warranty services, however, can not be performed at a Toyota dealership.
Are Lexus expensive to fix?
Answer: Not as expensive as you might think. As we just explained, many of the mechanical components in our vehicles comes from Toyota. Since Toyota is one of the biggest automakers in the world, their parts are common and plentiful, which drives costs down. Furthermore, our vehicles are among of the most dependable on the market. Does Lexus have a remote starter?
Answer: Many of Lexus’ vehicles come with remote starters, but not in Canada. Those 2016 and up models that don’t, however, can have the Lexus Start+ remote starter installed after production. It works at distances up to 800 metres, can activate air conditioning or heating and start the window defrost. And don’t worry, the remote starter is covered by the vehicle’s warranty.
Does Lexus support Apple CarPlay?
Answer: We do now! Starting with the 2019 model-year, Lexus will offer Apple CarPlay on select vehicles. The exact models haven’t been announced, but we will keep you updated as soon as we know more.
Does Lexus have free maintenance?
Answer: Yes! Every new Lexus comes with complimentary first and second scheduled maintenance services. The first check-in, a basic inspection, occurs at 1,600 km, while the second more extensive service happens at the 8,000 km mark. More on that below.
When to service my Lexus?
Answer: Follow the service manual. Depending on the vehicle, service appointments should be taken at different intervals and include different things. As of 2017, though, all Lexus models have moved to the 1,600 km/1 yr maintenance plan explained above, with the F models (RC F, GS F, LC) keeping with the 8,000/6-month plan.

What does Lexus service include?
Answer: Everything needed to keep your Lexus on the road for years to come. The first occurs at 1,600 km, and we make sure your new car is running smoothly. We also answer any questions about some of your new vehicle’s many functionalities and help you adjust your settings. The second maintenance occurs at 8,000 km and includes an in-depth verification of fluid levels and tire pressure, plus a brake inspection. And as mentioned, those first two are free!
