A look at the 2018 Lexus LS

The Lexus LS created a sensation when it was first launched in 1990. 28 years later it is still setting new benchmarks for attention to detail, powertrain performance, dependability, build quality and quietness.

Check out the revamped design that made the 2018 Lexus LS the most talked-about luxury car at the 2017 North American International Auto Show in the Detroit.

A More Aggressive Design

The fifth generation Lexus LS is longer, lower and wider than its predecessor. This radical new design with its coupe-like silhouette, sharp spindle grille, redesigned hood and reshaped muscular fenders give it a meaner look, which is a dramatic departure from the classic design of the earlier model.

To emphasize the aggressive look, Lexus has done away with those typical limousine lines and replaced them with a more dynamic looking profile, both at the front and rear ends. Check out the new bumpers and taillights!

Longer Yet Lighter

What’s particularly noteworthy with the 2018 LS is that it is longer than the outgoing model while still managing to shave off more than 200 pounds from its overall weight through the use of high-strength steel and aluminum. Not only is the 2018 longer in terms of exterior length, its 123” wheelbase makes it 1.3” longer than the earlier model. This incremental increase can make a significant difference to the comfort of the passengers inside the vehicle.

Improved Performance

The all new twin-turbocharged V6 with 415 hp promises a smooth ride with responsive handling and the 10-speed automatic transmission is capable of reaching 100 kph in 4.5 seconds.

Has Lexus sacrificed fuel economy with this change? The company says it hasn’t – so you can expect the same or better mileage than last year’s model.

An Interior Inspired by Japanese Aesthetics

The 2018 Lexus has retained the advanced technological features and outstanding comfort of its fourth generation predecessor and added a few more. The strong, uniquely Japanese identity and approach to luxury is evident in both the old and the new features.

So what changes can you expect in this revamped model? First there is the bolder, more youthful interior that complements the more daring exterior beautifully. Then there is the new seating design with 28-way power front seats that include cooling, heating and massage functions. Every driver’s dream!

Safety Features

The 2018 LS features the patented Lexus Safety System plus, which includes a host of modern active safety systems such as the Active Steering system, Intuitive Pedestrian Detection, parking assist, blind-spot monitors and more.

A Complete Package

With ramped-up technology, luxury and safety systems, you’d be hard put to find another vehicle that comes close to the 2018 Lexus LS. Moreover, with its longer and lighter design, Lexus delivers exactly what the modern driver is looking for.
