The Lexus NX was universally praised for its stunning looks when it first arrived on the luxury crossover scene. The 2018 NX features an entirely new front fascia, changes to the upper grille, and front bumper including chrome trim elements. Two new aluminum 18” wheels have been added, including a bronze coloured machine-finished piece. It’s still an NX, only better.
Drivers will appreciate the subtle improvements to NX, almost instantly. The centre dashboard is now 10.3” (from 7” in previous years) with an 8” audio display. The HVAC control panel has been dramatically simplified. Interfaces are larger and easier to use. Even the wireless charging tray has been reshaped to accommodate various smartphone sizes.
Formerly called the NX 200t, the NX 300 features an efficient and turbo charged 2.0L engine. The NX 300h continues to sport a 2.5L engine with a pair of electric motors to offer segment-leading fuel efficiency. Either drivetrain offers NX owners a richer, sportier engine sound and exhaust note that is reproduced through the speakers by Lexus’ Active Sound Control (ASC).
2018 NX F SPORT continues the tradition with a distinguished mesh grille and jet-black plating. The interior has received an appointment of textured Naguri aluminum orientation, part of Lexus’ TAKUMI craftsmanship, which provides a high sense of elegance while maintaining a sporty flair. Look out for the white/black seating surface treatment as one of the few new colour combinations, exclusive to F SPORT.
